Trust and safety are extremely important to us and all the students, parents, tutors and activity providers who are part of our community. That’s why we seek to be completely transparent about what we do and what we don’t and the steps we take as a platform to provide the highest levels of trust and security.
We ensure every tutor and activity provider completes a full profile - which includes adding a bio, their qualifications, a photo or video of themselves, their teaching preferences, and the areas they cover - before accepting them on our site. TutorGenie reviews each profile and we use our best endeavours to confirm that tutors and activity providers have suitable qualifications and backgrounds to teach the subjects or activities they offer, at a rate we deem to be fair and reasonable.
All ratings and reviews completed on TutorGenie are received from verified users who have completed lessons or activities through our platform.
We work hard to ensure our tutors and activity providers upload the most up to date information possible regarding their qualifications. However, we also recommend that parents or users request any certificates they believe to be relevant to the activity or tuition before they proceed with their bookings.
It is important to get to know your tutor before you proceed with a booking. Contacting your tutor or activity provider can be done through our messaging system or by availing of our free 15-minute video call. This way you can ensure you have the utmost confidence in who you select.
We also make it obligatory for all tutors and activity providers to review and accept the TutorGenie code of ethics when creating a profile.
Every tutor and activity provider is required to upload a copy of a valid Emirates ID that is in colour and in date. This is then automatically verified by Stripe, our payment processor. This also happens before they can set a class live.
At TutorGenie if you see this symbol it means that the tutor has been verified by us. If a profile does not have this it’s not necessarily a bad thing as it can take up to a week for an account to be verified, so maybe check back at another time or ask the tutor or activity provider why.
