Hello, my name is Ciara. I am a 35 year-old qualified teacher from Ireland, currently living and working in Sharjah. I have over 17 years of experience working with children in education and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. I currently teach Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2, but I am happy to tutor children of a range of ages and abilities. Working with children and supporting their learning has always been a passion of mine. I particularly enjoy helping children build their confidence, develop a positive attitude towards learning and reach their full potential. My teaching approach is patient, supportive and child-centred. I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged and actively involved in their learning. I use a combination of clear explanations, practical examples, play-based learning and real-life experiences to help make lessons engaging and easier to understand. When tutoring, my priority is to make sure each child understands not only what the answer is, but why it is the answer. I take the time to break questions and tasks down into manageable steps and explain them in a way that is suited to each individual child’s learning style and level. My goal is for every child to leave a tutoring session feeling more confident in their abilities and better equipped to tackle their schoolwork independently.
