With over 6 years experience, teaching across Britain, Kuwait and the UAE I am familiar with supporting students of all backgrounds and abilities at home by bridging the learning gaps between school and home learning. Though I hold a Bsc Psychology from the university of Liverpool, I am a Mathematics specialist teacher. I find a strong understanding of child development, learning and how the memory work combined with a strong mathematical background significantly aids in building progress in Mathematics. I have experience teaching and tutoring up until Year 12 for the British curriculum. I also have experience tutoring to the American curriculum, as Mathematics is highly transferable between curriculums with only the question style changing, but core skills are identical. With regards to teaching students from Year 10 and above, using exam style questions and a focus on exam technique works best to prepare them for their assessments as well as supplementing that learning using other tailor-made resources. I also have experience working with primary students including year 6, as it is a crucial transition point into secondary Mathematics. With primary students using hand on activities works best engaged their learning and keep them on task at home. Collaboration between the parent, teacher, school and tutor promises progress within the child.
