To date I have gained invaluable experience teaching children ages 4-12 in a range of diverse school settings, including working in SET which has further educated me as a teacher. I have been educated in the latest methodologies and pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning. I strive to promote the importance of independent learning in each pupil, offering them many opportunities for enquiry and project-based learning across the curriculum. I always seek to teach, motivate and direct pupils while maintaining high interest and achievement. I am thoroughly committed to my sporting career and I appreciate the benefits in terms of leading a healthy lifestyle, creating lasting friendships and the value of team ethos. I have a deep appreciation of the value extra-curricular activities have in facilitating the holistic development of pupils. I have completed a coaching course and a disability inclusion course, which all skills learned were utilised when coaching local underage groups and in Summer and Easter camps. I enjoy researching and creating new lessons in keeping with the Curriculum Guidelines. I am committed to my continuing professional development and, to date, I have engaged in many CPD courses to further my knowledge and enhance my teaching skills in the areas of assessment, SEN, etc. I personally feel children are happiest when active and involved in their learning, and I enjoy being a part of this. I am reliable, honest, sensible and understanding with excellent time management, communication and organisational skills. My studies thus far have given me a greater appreciation of how important the enhancement and exploration of children as individuals is. This is achieved through encouraging them in their differing learning styles, thus giving them experience of success which in turn fosters self-esteem and confidence, which is vital for their well-being.
