Hi! I'm Isla Kendal, an experienced art teacher with a passion for nurturing creativity and inspiring students to reach their full potential. Originally from England, I earned my teaching qualification in Newcastle and currently teach art in Dubai, where I work with students aged 11-18 with mixed abilities, helping them explore their artistic abilities and build strong foundations in various mediums. My teaching experience spans across portraiture, watercolor techniques, and architectural sketching, alongside specialised styles like those of Georgia O'Keeffe and Mark Powell. I also guide students in innovative projects, such as creating sustainable building designs and cityscapes. Additionally, I’m well-versed in teaching Pearson IGCSE Art, but I enjoy helping students excel in GCSE and A-level art coursework too, whilst I am also confident in all exam boards. Beyond teaching, I'm passionate about exploring the intersection of architecture and identity through art. I actively participate in exhibitions and enjoy working on set designs for school plays. In my spare time, I love musicals, following Newcastle United football, and trying new activities—most recently, padel!
