Hello. My name is Orla, I am from Ireland and living in Dubai. This academic year, I teach Early Years 2. The children in this year group are aged between 4 and 5. I am very passionate about teaching and have been since a young age. Additionally, I have experience of working with children of all different needs from the ages of 2 up to 12.

I have a level 8 honors degree in Education Studies from the world famous university, Trinity College Dublin. This degree gave me the opportunity to study education in many different forms. For example, I spent time working with students with additional needs, mainstream primary school, children who were being educated at home due to various reasons and then early childhood education. I then went on to complete my Masters degree in primary school teaching and I have never looked back. I spent two years working as a supply teacher. I found this experience very beneficial as each day you could find yourself working with a different age group with different needs. It certainly required you to be able to be adaptable to the needs of the students you are working with.
Following on from this, I worked as a special educational needs teacher (also in Ireland). This role, provided the opportunity to work with children who have varying needs. To work in this role, you need to be caring and compassionate. Provide realistic goals for each child to reach and praise them with each achievement made. No child learns at the same pace and by working with a child at a one to one level it can really give them the support that they need.
