My name is Werner Vermeulen, and I am originally from South Africa. I studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where my main subjects were Mathematics and Science. I am married to a wonderful wife and am a proud father of four children. I have 17 years of teaching experience in total. I taught in South Africa for 8 years before moving to the UAE, where I have been teaching for the past 9 years. During this time, I have worked mainly as a homeroom teacher for Grades 4, 5, and 6, teaching core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy helping learners build confidence in their abilities. My teaching style is clear, structured, and supportive. I keep lessons simple and focused, breaking down difficult concepts into small, manageable steps so learners do not feel overwhelmed. I believe that strong foundations lead to good long-term results. When tutoring, I use skills such as: • Explaining concepts in simple, child-friendly language • Using examples and visuals to support understanding • Checking for understanding regularly • Giving encouragement and positive feedback • Adjusting lessons to suit each learner’s level and pace I have experience supporting students who need extra help in English (reading, writing, grammar), Mathematics, and Science. I focus on helping learners feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing padel and golf. I am patient, reliable, and enthusiastic, and I always aim to help learners grow both academically and personally. I look forward to working with students who need support and parents who want their children to feel confident, motivated, and successful in their learning.
